City Council requires collaboration with community partners, staff, and fellow council members. Over the last four years, we’ve built for the next generation, invested in a safer community, made our town more connected, planned instead of reacted, and grew the economy while protecting our foundation.
Civic Engagement & Transparency
Representation on Brookings Health System Board of Directors & National League of Cities committees: University Committees, Small Towns Council, and Federal Economic Development Policy Advocacy
Created and hold positions with Students’ Association & Brookings Regional Humane Society
Hosted in- person and virtual community office hours
Assisted in execution of Speakers Bureau for staff and council to speak at social service organizations
Participated at booths at local events and gatherings such as the Farmer’s Market and Downtown @ Sundown
Participated in radio and local news highlights and interviews
Set a record number of quorum notices 2 years in a row with fellow councilmembers to attend community events
Created engaging social media videos on upcoming projects or ways to participate with and contact City Council
